Coronal Brow Lift in Washington DC

A coronal brow lift is a surgical procedure designed to elevate and smooth the forehead, to lift the eyebrows and if desired to shift a receding hairline forward.  Severely low positioned eyebrows can create a fatigued or scowling appearance, and contribute to vision obstruction. The coronal brow lift technique requires a certain level of skill to avoid visible scars and to achieve perfect symmetry. Not every surgeon is capable of performing it to Dr. Rad’s standard.

Procedure Cost

Cost of a coronal brow lift can range from $10,500 – $14,000 depending on the extent of surgery required.  The coronal brow lift is a meticulous operation and requires a certain level of skill to perform accurately and safely.  While total cost increases when combined with other procedures, surgery is cost-effective when multiple procedures are combined. Cost is a reflection of the skill and experience required to obtain excellent results. Under Dr. Rad’s care your experience is guaranteed to be the highest quality.

This 68 year old woman had severe forehead and eyebrow droop. She was concerned that she appeared “scowling”. She also had partial vision obstruction. She had wanted to look refreshed for her daughter’s upcoming wedding 2 months later. Dr. Rad performed a coronal brow lift and Upper Blepharoplasty.

Photos are of patients who have given explicit written agreement to have them displayed. For patient privacy reasons, the majority of Dr. Rad’s patients prefer their before/after photos to remain off-line. However, Dr. Rad will be happy to show you, in the setting of a confidential consultation, a series of before/after photos, not displayed here, to address your specific concerns.

The “coronal brow lift” technique is best for patients whose forehead skin is severely wrinkled and for whom eyebrow position is very low with possible vision obstruction. This is common in patients in their later years. Dr. Rad uses this technique to smooth forehead skin and to elevate the eyebrows by 4-6 mm (a significant elevation).  For patients of all ages, if you are concerned that you have a “long” forehead with recessed hairline then the coronal technique is effective in bringing hairline forward, thus shortening the forehead. An in-person consultation with Dr. Rad is crucial to determine whether the coronal approach is right for you.

Swelling and bruising are moderate and depend on each patient’s anatomy, the extent of surgery, your unique tissue healing ability and your adherence to Dr. Rad’s post-operative instructions: these are the most important factors that impact recovery. For example, patients who are fair, older and who have thin skin will show bruising more readily than others.  Vigorous lifting or exercise early in the recovery phase will result in more swelling. However, with regular icing and moderation of physical activity swelling and bruising typically resolve in a matter of days.  And, Dr. Rad performs the least amount of surgery to achieve the result so you can be sure your recovery is the shortest possible.

What Patients Are Saying

We consulted with three plastic surgeons before choosing Dr. Rad for my 17 year old son’s rhinoplasty and chin implant in March 2017. From the first meeting, we felt confident that Dr. Rad is a skilled, experienced and talented surgeon who pays attention to every detail. He is also a super guy – warm, caring, attentive and welcoming. Everything went smoothly and we are extremely happy with the results. We are very pleased with the whole experience and recommend him without hesitation.
