Botox Microinfusion
Botox microinfusion, the most popular injectable treatment in South Korea, is used to achieve the “glass skin” with the look of smaller pores, increased elasticity, and diminished flushing. First developed in Singapore, and also known as “mesobotox” or “microbotox” this is not the traditional type of Botox treatment common in the U.S. that relaxes muscles to soften expression lines. Rather, Dr. Sherber will make a dilute sterile solution of BotoxⓇ Cosmetic and stamp it into the dermis - the skin's collagen layer - with tiny hollow needles rather than injecting into the muscles. This is a full-face treatment, and depending on where the Botox microinfusion is concentrated you can achieve diminished oil production and smaller pores, improvement in skin redness, and increased elasticity.
Dr. Sherber is an expert on Botox microinfusion, and was invited to be an author on the first international consensus paper for best practices in microbotox treatment alongside colleagues from around the world. This treatment is especially popular with our patients before big events or appearances on camera. For those who would like an extra hydration boost, we can mix in Skinvive. As cited in the Washington Post: “Optimal treatments for those who are frequently on television focus on skin quality,” says Washington dermatologist Noëlle Sherber… She has several patients — elected officials, CEOs, and others in the public eye — who start “prejuvenation” treatments in their 30s and 40s. ‘So that by the time they reach their 70s,” she says, “they look like they’re still in their 50s.’” Dr. Sherber was named Washington DC’s best for Botox in Allure magazine: “D.C. women who’ve tried doctor after doctor for Botox keep coming back to this one.” She also serves as an Advisory Board member to help develop best practices and innovation for Allergan Aesthetics (the manufacturer of Botox®). Dr. Sherber has published research on differential Botox dosing across patient ages, and on evidence-based approaches to microbotox for skin quality treatment. She is a Principle Investigator in the FDA Phase III clinical trial of Botox for masseter muscle prominence, also known as “jawline” Botox, to relax masseter muscles to achieve a slimmer facial structure.
Though there are other neuromodulators on the market, Botox is widely considered the gold standard. Treatment is quick and comfortable – injections take about 10 minutes (depending on number of areas treated) and do not require numbing, which allows patients the flexibility to schedule their treatment at any time during the day. It is also effective – this minimally invasive treatment makes it possible for men and women to experience natural looking results. It is rejuvenating – patients are able to enjoy improved skin quality within days. It is cost-effective – as a result of the personalization to address a patient’s cosmetic goals, we can develop a treatment plan that is in line with your desired investment and utilize Allē, a rewards program, and CareCredit financing options to help offset the cost of treatment. Finally, there is no down-time required – patients are able to achieve desired results whilst returning to normal daily activities immediately post treatment.

Your skin may look pink post-treatment, so Dr. Sherber will apply a soothing hydrating serum and gentle sunscreen to your skin before you depart to help calm and protect it. Rarely, patients may experience minor bruising, which can be covered up using a concealer. Skin quality improvement begins within a few days, with full results evident at 2 weeks.
