Washington, D.C., dermatologist Noëlle Sherber, MD, whose mother “lined up in the street” to buy Crème de la Mer from Huber himself 50 years ago, says that the core benefit of La Mer products may be their ability to keep the skin’s barrier robust. “Complexions become less reactive — and lose less water — when the barrier is functioning well,” she says.
