Dr. Sherber is the only dermatologist I trust with my skin checks! She even caught a dangerous mole that a previous dermatologist had overlooked. I’m lucky to have found her. Also, I appreciate her product recommendations from their retail area even when I have a budget in mind.

There is not enough to say about Dr. Rad and his staff. I highly recommend this practice. He has the best staff. I had an appointment with Dr. Sherber last week. She prescribed me some beneficial medications. When I asked questions regarding advanced medical treatments, she recommended me to wait and see the skin’s reaction first. She explained that if I get many treatments at the same time, my skin might react negatively. And that it would be waste of my time and money. “Please note that not all dermatologists are as honest as she is”. I can see my skin getting better day by day. And I highly recommend her.

Let me start with the office location. Its in D.C. a walk away from the white house (in my opinion, it is a walk away). The office is discrete and I love that you don’t feel like you are walking into a medical office. It has a luxury feel and the privacy room are very unique. I had breast and tummy procedures and Dr. Rad took his time to understand my concern and focus on the results. He is very zen when talking to his patients and never felt rushed. Dr. Sherber is among the best dermatologists in the DC/MD/VA area. She is super down to earth, compassionate, and sharp as a tact. What more can you want in a doctor? She is a great listener as well–a rarity in this industry. Her staff members are friendly, professional, and always eager to help with your unique needs. What’s great about her DC location is that she has a sleek retail storefront, meticulously lined with top-notch skin/makeup/hair (etc.) products (not just stuff you can find at Sephora). If you are a passerby, please do not be intimidated but go in. The staff members are super friendly and helpful. Behind the scenes are discreet rooms for consultation/treatment, and relaxing lounge rooms to make you feel as relaxed as possible. Each time I go see Dr. Sherber, I know that my needs are being met. I started seeing Dr Sherber about a year ago after I realized that years of basking in the glory of the sun sans sunscreen or hats had indeed taken a toll. Over the last couple of years unsightly sunspots and general skin tone issues began to emerge, and nothing I did seemed to help. I researched well-regarded dermatologists in the area and Dr Sherber kept coming to my attention. I had done my due diligence and knew Dr Sherber was extraordinarily well-educated, but her kindness, empathy and compassion (almost) trump her intellect and talent.

I have been undergoing treatment for my hyperpigmentation with Dr Sherber using the Clear and Brilliant laser. Between the laser and Dr Sherber overhauling my previous skincare routine (of course, kindly and only after I asked as Dr Sherber does not sell you on anything not asked about, needed or proven to be effective) my skin has literally never looked better. After living with a painful and problematic breast reconstruction for fifteen years, I consulted with Dr. Rad and decided to undergo Diep flap surgery. Dr. Sherber provided several treatments of Permea/Clear and Brilliant on my trouble spots (old scarred bumps from waxing/plucking, over-exfoliating and mild adult acne), combined with retinoid prescriptions and other solutions. So far, I have had 5-6 treatments. Since last year my skin tone and texture have improved, but more importantly my lifestyle habits have changed dramatically. No longer do I over-stimulate my skin with excessive products or heavily rely on bizarre homeopathic methods. The Permea helped a lot with uneven pigmentation, blotchiness and even forehead wrinkles! It’s not a magical cure, and you need routine treatment (as well as daily care) depending on the severity of your condition. However, I believe it is worth it even if a bit on the costly side. In the long run, it is about maintaining good habits, good hygiene and living a stress-free life. As a result of being around the Sherber team, I have changed my diet habits, decreased my caffeine intake, and decided to focus on improving both my physical and mental well-being. Skin conditions will be a life-long battle for some, but with some inner strength, persistence and help from others (Sherber & Rad) things can change over time.

Dr. Rad and his staff are beyond compare. After having one breast augmentation result in extremely painful capsular contracture, I was wary seeking out another surgeon to fix it. Dr. Rad was very careful in listening to my specific desires and concerns and reflected that in his suggestions for how to proceed. One year after my beautiful face/neck work, I was ready for more. I returned to Dr. Rad for a tummy tuck plus flank and upper arm liposuction. This time I was smart to stay over at Sibley hospital – 2 nights – after my experience with hard-to-control pain during the first 2 post-op days last year, when we were in an outpatient surgical center. I was treated very well despite being very needy with respect to pain control. Everything is still very swollen and bruised but looks good so far. I will continue to travel to D.C. from Baltimore for maintenance treatments and other procedures. (I think I am becoming addicted, in a good way 🙂 Dr. Rad is that amazing.

My experience was with breast cancer resulting in bilateral mastectomy. I had to wait over a year to have breast reconstruction as I had much radiation and I needed to heal. I had a lot of complications during that time, seromas, infection, but finally healed enough to have reconstruction. When I had the reconstruction, I got a life-threatening infection, but a team of great surgeons at Johns Hopkins pulled me through and I survived but had lost much of the breast tissue that was reconstructed.
I waited again till I healed, had a great surgeon, Dr. Jaime Flores, who started reconstructing the breast that I lost a lot of tissue. Then Dr. Flores moved from the area and recommended his protege’, Dr. R and I am so glad he did. He is not only a great surgeon, but an artist. I am now in the last phases of this reconstruction and I am very pleased with the results. I would recommend Dr. R very highly. He is very skilled, his manner is absolutely delightful, and he is a truly kind, considerate person.

I have been to multiple dermatologists in the past, and never before have I met someone who exceeded my expectations like Dr. Sherber. Dr. Rad performed a full facelift to expand on the necklift, and he customized my surgery for a rapid recovery. My post-op appearance is so much better in terms of swelling and bruising: at post-op day 9, I can already see the results will be extraordinary. (Bodywork is still very swollen and bruised but looks good so far.) This forum doesn’t give me the opportunity to give Dr. Rad adequate praise, but he is truly amazing.

In laser treatment of spider veins and scars on fair, sensitive skin you need to be conservative. I benefitted from effective treatment and detailed instructions for follow up. This doctor is the best. He is the most gifted physician that I’ve ever met. Dr. Ariel Rad is in the top-echelon of physicians. He has a brilliant brain and a big heart. His skills as a surgeon are unparalleled. He’s young, talented at what he does without any arrogance at all. He has an empathic manner and genuinely cares about his patients. Dr. Rad was my plastic surgeon when I had breast cancer and he did a fabulous job with my breast reconstruction. Dr. Rad is amazing and has such a wonderful caring, nurturing demeanor right from the minute he shakes your hand the first time you see him. He keeps that friendly smile that make the patient feel calm and relaxed. Dr. Rad is exceptional in every way. The staff at the office are very attentive and so is Dr. Rad. At the lowest point in my life with no hair and no breasts, it was rough, but he made the journey through Breast Cancer easier, he gave me hope that I would feel like myself again and then he made me look like myself again!! I’m forever in his debt. I would recommend him absolutely and completely without hesitation.

The whole experience of checking in, consultation and treatment was above and beyond my expectations. The pricing was very fair, the facilities are elegant and stylish and the selection of skin care products to browse after my treatment were lovely. I have been considering getting liposuction for a few years now. I had consultations with a few doctors in Washington, D.C. and Miami, Florida. I never build the trust with any of the doctors that I visited, until I had a consultation with Dr. Rad. I was highly impressed by his credentials and was blown away by the time he spent explaining what to expect with the procedure from beginning to end. He was able to answer all of my questions. I ended up booking an appointment right away. During the day of my procedure, Dr. Rad checked on me before to make sure I was mentally and emotionally prepared. *******YES! I would absolutely recommend Dr. Rad!*********** I am very glad that one day I decided to see Dr. Rad for a second opinion regarding my breast reconstruction. I had prophylactic bilateral mastectomy done in 2014 at Johns Hopkins. Initially the surgeon at Johns Hopkins told me that I was a candidate for DIEP reconstruction. However, when the plastic surgeon at Johns Hopkins saw me for the follow up appointment weeks after the mastectomy, the surgeon unexpectedly recommended implants, and advised me against DIEP. I felt lost and confused. Then I made an appointment with Dr. Rad. Dr. Rad convinced me that I would be a good candidate for the DIEP. Today I am absolutely proud of my new body, thanks to Dr. Rad. He performed DIEP reconstruction surgery and two revision surgeries with fat grafting. He also corrected surgical mistakes which had been made at Johns Hopkins. I went through three surgeries with minimal anxiety and minimal pain. Dr. Rad is not just a brilliant surgeon, but he is a wonderful physician with a big passion for his job. He is very personable and very attentive, and I believe that he makes all his patients feel very special. In addition, he has the most beautiful office you will ever see, and a wonderful, responsive team.
