Diep Flap
Diep Flap

Diep Flap

This 36 year old woman had a gene that predisposed her to multiple types of cancer including breast cancer and liver cancer. She underwent a prophylactic double mastectomy operation. Dr. Rad performed Bilateral DIEP Flaps reconstruction in a single stage.

Case 12
Love Handle Flap
Love Handle Flap

Love Handle Flap

This 36 year old woman had right breast cancer for which she had a mastectomy and DIEP flap (performed by another surgeon – see “BEFORE” image). She discovered that she had the breast cancer gene so she needed a left mastectomy as prevention. Dr. Rad rebuilt her left breast with a love handle flap. The scar is hidden in the natural fold underneath her left breast. Only about 30 surgeons worldwide have the skill and ability to perform the love handle flap operation.

Love Handle Flap

Love Handle Flap

This 57 year old woman had right breast cancer. She was treated with mastectomy and implant reconstruction by another surgeon. After radiation, her breast skin contracted severely and the implant became exposed and it had to be removed. Years later she found Dr. Rad who performed a love handle flap operation to correct the deformity and restore symmetry.

Implants

Implants

Dr. Rad uses silicone (not saline) for implant reconstruction. Implants are FDA-approved and are ideal for patients who want the least amount of surgery and who do not need radiation treatment. This 36 year old woman had bilateral prophylactic mastectomies due to the fact that she has the BRCA1 gene mutation which predisposed her to developing breast cancer. Dr. Rad treated her first with Tissue Expanders, followed 3 months later with exchange to 650 cc silicone gel implants.

Dr. Rad uses silicone (not saline) for implant reconstruction. Implants are FDA-approved and are ideal for patients who want the least amount of surgery and who do not need radiation treatment. This 42 year old woman had bilateral mastectomies for invasive breast cancer. Dr. Rad treated her first with Tissue Expanders, followed 3 months later with exchange to 555 cc silicone gel implants as well as fat grafting to define the cleavage line.

This 34 year old woman had a right mastectomy for cancer treatment, and a left prophylactic mastectomy for prevention. Dr. Rad performed in one stage with teardrop silicone implants and acellular matrix sling.

Case 19
Lumpectomy Reconstruction
Lumpectomy Reconstruction

Lumpectomy Reconstruction

Dr. Rad employs the TDAP Flap for women who need healthy tissue added to their breasts in order to heal severe radiation damage and/or improve breast symmetry. This 52 year old woman had been a cancer survivor for many years following lumpectomy and radiation therapy. She developed a suspicious spot on mammogram that required a biopsy. Due to severe radiation she developed an open, raw and very painful ulcer that would not heal after 6 months. Radiation had also caused her entire breast to shrink resulting in severe asymmetry and her clothes fit poorly. When she first met Dr. Rad, she wanted the least invasive solution to these problems, and the TDAP Flap was the perfect solution.

Case 20
Diep Flap
Diep Flap

Diep Flap

This 42 year old woman and mother of 2 underwent a right mastectomy via inframammary fold incision. Dr. Rad performed a Unilateral DIEP Flap to rebuild her right breast and create symmetry with the left breast which was left untouched. This is a perfect example of creating beautiful body proportions by redistributing excess fat from the abdomen to the breast.
