Liquid Rhinoplasty (Non-Surgical)

When patients come to Dr. Rad seeking small cosmetic changes to the nose and expressing reluctance to undergo surgery, he typically recommends a non-surgical, temporary approach involving dermal fillers or what is called a “liquid rhinoplasty”. This placement of filler can smoothen the bridge, improve the tip, and even out the nose among other improvements. Recovery is minimal and results can last up to a year.

Injectable fillers are clear soft gels formulated with pure hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that is made naturally in the skin to help it hold onto hydration. Dr. Rad has extensive knowledge and experience injecting filler. He is sought out for his skill in delivering natural-looking outcomes with fillers and pays close attention to the patient’s natural anatomy to achieve the optimal result

02Safety

This is an in-office procedure that is very safe and only requires the application of topical numbing, for optimal comfort, 20 minutes before your appointment.

All injectable filler treatments have the risk of inadvertent intravascular injection, meaning that fillers can be injected into a blood vessel and disrupt blood flow. Dr. Rad will counsel you on certain higher risk areas for this rare but serious complication as there have been published reports of skin necrosis, blindness, and stroke.

03Technique

Dr. Rad’s technique involves the following steps when performing a liquid rhinoplasty:

1. Treatment takes about 20 minutes.

2.Immediately pre-treatment, we will clean your skin thoroughly and prep the area to be treated using an ice roller. This will add additional numbing and constrict the blood vessels to minimize the chance of bruising.

3. Dr. Rad uses hyaluronic fillers with added lidocaine that further numbs the area

4. He will start off by injecting small amounts of filler in the nasal areas of concern to see how the skin reacts before adding more

04recovery

Swelling is expected post-treatment, and is more pronounced if highly vascularized areas are treated. The swelling does have the benefit of stretching the fibroblasts (collagen producing cells) in the area of treatment, which triggers collagen production.

05Aftercare

Care post-treatment is important for both your recovery and results – You may experience some pain, tenderness, or redness after treatment so it is best to minimize exercise, alcohol, and sun/heat exposure for 24 hours post injection.

06longevity

The high resolution photographs taken at the time of your consultation will be used so that we can observe the results of your treatment with accuracy. Results will be seen immediately after treatment – depending on the selection of formula and optimization of treatment, results can last anywhere between 1 to 2 years.
