Our cutting-edge laser + light + energy therapies in Washington DC revitalize patients’ skin, smoothing away years of sun damage and the effects of the aging process.
Lasers use light energy to target melanin (removal of dark spots, hair removal), hemoglobin (treatment of redness and visible veins), or water (collagen stimulation for skin rejuvenation).
The new generation of lasers provides skin-perfecting results that aren’t achievable through skincare alone. Innovations in fractionated non-ablative resurfacing (the newest innovation being the Clear+Brilliant platform of lasers) keep skin behaving biologically younger, which translates to a more youthful appearance over the years.
Our state-of-the-art treatments that employ laser energy, light energy, or radiofrequency energy are completely non-invasive and non-surgical. This allows for more comfortable and dramatically shorter downtime/recovery time, a lower chance of complications, and no post-surgical marks.
After a laser/light/energy treatment or series of treatment sessions, patients will notice immediate and/or gradual improvement in the skin imperfections that were treated.
After treatments that stimulate collagen production in the skin tissues and remodel existing collagen protein fibers, results improve over time as new collagen grows. Skin health is enhanced, resulting in numerous aesthetic improvements. Because this is a natural process, the results look incredibly natural.
Thanks to Dr. Sherber’s years of training and experience, she is able to achieve optimal results with our laser, light, and energy therapies. Dr. Sherber has a deep understanding of the amount of energy required to resolve skin issues while leaving the surrounding skin safe and unharmed. She is well-trained in the newest technologies and treatment modalities.
Dr. Sherber’s approach focuses on improving skin health by bringing fresh undamaged skin to the surface. She pairs this with improving the skin’s appearance by softening imperfections, and her treatments require little to no downtime.
Dr. Sherber knows that all skin types and tones respond differently to different treatments. After a skin evaluation, she can design a course of treatment that combines multiple treatment modalities to provide the best results possible for patients.
We provide a number of laser + light + energy therapies designed to address various cosmetic issues for patients from all walks of life.
CLEAR + BRILLIANT: This fractionated non-ablative diode (1440nm) laser addresses fine age lines, dullness, rough texture, and oversized pores. Fractionated lasers leave numerous areas of the skin layers undamaged, allowing them to aid in the healing process.
PERMÉA: Clear + Brilliant Perméa is designed to effectively treat pigmentation issues like melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation after acne breakouts. Unlike Clear + Brilliant, this laser treatment has a wavelength of 1927nm, allowing it to deliver improved hyperpigmentation results.
LASER GENESIS: This micropulsed Nd:YAG laser treatment reduces facial flushing, reduces wrinkles and roughness, and makes skin firmer.
ND:YAG: This laser treatment addresses dilated blood vessels on the body and the face while making skin smoother. Through this, the effects of rosacea and skin damage can be corrected.
LIMELIGHT INTENSE PULSED LIGHT: Cutera LimeLight IPL uses short bursts of high-intensity light to address low-contrast or high-contrast pigmentation. Brown spots can be effectively treated, as can small veins and inflammation.
PEARL FRACTIONAL: This hybrid of erbium and CO2 lasers greatly improves collagen production to reduce roughness, discoloration, and age lines. This is a deep-reaching fractional laser treatment, meaning it creates microchannels deep in the skin tissues.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL: At Sherber+Rad, we use a combination of CoolGlide and ProWave LX technologies to address unwanted hair in a number of areas. CoolGlide is FDA-approved for all skin types, making it an excellent option for patients with darker skin tones.
THERMAGE FLX: Thermage FLX is the latest generation of Thermage radiofrequency skin-tightening technology. It features precise temperature control for each RF energy pulse, allowing for impressive collagen-remodeling results.
Dr. Sherber, a board-certified dermatologist, specializes in laser skin rejuvenation and Thermage FLX, and she has years of training with a wide variety of laser, light, and energy procedures. Treatments are comfortable and typically do not take a great deal of time to perform.
A laser, light, or energy treatment session often begins with the application of an anesthetic. Usually, only topical or local anesthesia is required, and in many cases, these treatments require no anesthesia whatsoever.
Once the targeted region has been prepared, a handpiece is used to precisely and evenly deliver the energy to the area. A warm sensation may be felt during treatment. Once the treatment is complete, patients can often return to their daily schedule, depending on the intensity of the procedure.
The cost of laser + light + energy therapies in Washington DC varies depending on a number of factors. The exact procedure chosen will impact the overall price, as will the number of treatment sessions required to achieve each patient’s aesthetic goals. Our affordable treatment options are ideal for patients looking for high-quality lasting results. Contact us to arrange your consultation.
Our team will take high resolution photographs for your record so that we can observe the results of your treatment with accuracy. We will then ask you about your medical history, including current medications and any prior procedures. Dr. Sherber will talk with you about your specific goals and customize a treatment plan for you that might include Botox, other injectables, laser treatments, and skincare products. Dr. Sherber is a board-certified dermatologist and performs all treatments personally.
Before Botox treatment we will clean your skin thoroughly, and Dr. Sherber will ask you to move your facial muscles to make various expressions so that she can map out your muscular anatomy. The injections are not painful but you may feel a small pinch in more sensitive areas. Several points will be injected, with the exact number of injections needed determined by your anatomy and by the extent of the areas being treated. Treatment takes about 5-10 minutes.
Dr. Sherber graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University, where she designed and implemented a novel degree program in health policy focused on assessing and improving quality of care. She next attended the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where she earned her M.D. degree. Following a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical research at Columbia University, she returned to Johns Hopkins for dermatology residency training and conducted research in scar healing and in disorders of abnormal collagen. She is now a Clinical Assistant Professor at George Washington University in the Department of Dermatology.
